Stated Meeting – November 11th, 2021

Mt. Hood Lodge No 32 met on November 11th at the Barberton Grange for our Stated Communication on the 1st Degree. Meal attendees enjoyed a main dish of either Surf & Turf or Kaula Pork. Apologies to all the Veterans who were concerned with a meal of steak and lobster… no you’re not being deployed! WM Will read The Watch poem before recognizing all Veterans present.

After some business, Brother Will C. gave a masterful presentation of the 1st Degree Posting Lecture. Then, WB Mac P. highlighted the National Sojourner organization, including background on the organization, scholarship programs, and upcoming events. After which, in a surprise twist, all present became participants in a game of Masonic Wheel of Fortune! The final round led us into a brief discussion of Chapter 23 of the Constitutions. Then, candles were lit and extinguished as we took a moment to remember Brothers who had recently passed. WB John F. gave a dramatic performance of a soliloquy from Shakespeare’s Hamlet, before leading the lodge in a discussion of interpretations and masonic ties. Several upcoming events were discussed (noted below). During the close, all present took a moment to acknowledge and thank VWB David D. for his contributions to Mt. Hood, culminating in a presentation of the Hiram Award. His service and dedication to the lodge have been fundamental to its prosperity and the thank you was heart-felt. After which the lodge was closed, peace and harmony prevailing.
